Winnie Davis Hall – UGA 1903 (1902, Category 2). Built as a dormitory for the State Normal School in 1902 from designs prepared by architect Charles E. Choate of Augusta, Georgia, Winnie Davis Hall was later converted to a women’s dormitory during the Coordinate Campus period, and now serves as an administration building. It was built by the United Daughters of the Confederacy and named for Jefferson Davis’s daughter. Winne Davis Hall is listed as a contributing building in the Oglethorpe Avenue Historic District. Two artillery pieces located outside the building were installed on loan from the Naval Historical Center in 1968. The building retains integrity and appears to contribute to a National Register-eligible historic district. It is assessed as a Category 2 resource.
