This proposed Phase 2 includes the renovation of approximately 18,500 sf of the building’s 61,000 sf one story section. Phase 2 will target renovation and expansion of the College of Engineering’s required classroom and auditorium spaces.
The proposed renovation is anticipated to provide approximately 18,500 sf of new instructional space with an estimated 380 seats. The majority of the reconfigured and new instructional spaces will be assigned to approximately nine new traditional and active classrooms. A new 125 seat tiered auditorium will be at the center of the renovation.
Full mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems upgrades will be required in support of the new auditorium and classroom spaces. The balance of the renovation on Phase 2 will provide two new large restrooms, student meeting space and circulation which will serve a secondary purpose of providing study and collaborative seating. Accessibility upgrades will also be a component of the renovation.
